Emergency departments are often the first point of contact for individuals with substance use disorder. Providing person-centered care in this setting means going beyond protocols to embrace empathy, reduce stigma, and support recovery with evidence-based practices. This is a collaborative session to support Medication for Opiod Use Disorder (MOUD) implementation and innovation across care settings.

This confidential, collaborative session is designed for healthcare professionals working in emergency care settings.  It is designed to equip participants with practical strategies to identify, assess, and utilize local and statewide resources to support patients effectively.

Participants will leave with actionable strategies to strengthen community partnerships and improve patient outcomes through more effective care coordination.

This PSO Safe Table is supported in part by the NJ Dept of Health (NOFA OORP25TMO) and by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award to the NJ Dept of Health. The contents are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement by, NJ Dept of Health, CDC/HHS, or the U.S. Government.
