Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of pregnancy-related morbidity and mortality in the United States, with preventable harm often driven by missed or delayed recognition across healthcare settings, including emergency departments, inpatient units, labor and delivery, postpartum care, and transitions to outpatient follow-up.
This session focuses on the Readiness component of the AIM Cardiac Conditions bundle, emphasizing team preparedness, standardized protocols, risk assessment, and the infrastructure needed to respond effectively to maternal cardiac complications.
