This program is for NJHA members only.
Registration Deadline: Oct. 20, 2025

This is a confidential PSO Safe Table, designed to support healthcare professionals in emergency care settings as they explore best practices for managing opioid use disorder using medication-assisted treatment (MAT). Through case-based discussion and clinical insight, participants will examine the use of buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone as first-line therapies and gain practical strategies to reduce stigma and improve patient outcomes.

The Garden State Patient Safety Center - a federally certified Patient Safety Organization (PSO) - recognizes that finding robust answers and strategies to complex clinical issues can sometimes be challenging. PSO Safe Tables are forums where healthcare professionals from across NJ can discuss patient safety experiences, share best practices, and participate in shared learning. The setting provides a safe, confidential environment that allows healthcare professionals to discuss challenges with the ultimate goal of quality improvement and patient safety.

This PSO Safe Table is supported in part by the NJ Dept of Health (NOFA OORP25TMO) and by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award to the NJ Dept of Health. The contents are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily represent the official views of, nor an endorsement by, NJ Dept of Health, CDC/HHS, or the U.S. Government.
